Executive Chef Scott Burns is pioneering Dude Ranch cuisine, California-style. Born and raised in the Sierra communities, he honed his skill between traditional fine dining steak houses in the Mountain West and California’s pride: farm-to-table restaurants utilizing the freshest fare available from local vendors. Chef Scott blends traditional dude ranch fare with a modern take and wholistic living approach. Using what produce he can grow in the rural Sierra mixed with the best ingredients he can source from local ranchers and farmers, Chef Scott is enthused by the challenges of cooking on the trail. Looking to local history to guide his menu, a Spanish paella harkens to the original western ranchers’ dietary preferences and Basque cuisine favorites bring family-style dining back to basics as the shepherds in the area did. He will roast a pig on a spit or blend the finest vegan cuisine to make your dude ranch getaway exactly the experience you’re craving.


Dining in The Kitchen at the Ranch

We sit around one table. We eat well. This is life on the ranch. Happiness is a full belly and new friends.

Whether you’re booking an all-inclusive vacation or a simple stay, we cook for you. Our chef, Scott Burns accommodates the most trying dietary restrictions with the most incredible cuisine.

We provide three square meals each day scheduled around our activities.

  • Breakfast is served from 7:00-9:00 a.m.

  • Lunch is ready promptly at 12:30 p.m. each day.

  • Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. every day but Sunday.


Friday night BBQ

Friday night BBQ’s are open to the public. ($25 for adults 16 & up, $11.25 for juniors 6-15, $2.25 for children 3-5, the littlest ones under 3 are free). We love our community and we think you will, too. Please call ahead.
