Equine Guided Leadership
It was said by Winston Churchill:
"There is nothing so good for the inside of a man, than the outside o f a horse."
Equine Guided Leadership is available from April 15th - October 31st. Sessions are crafted to suit your objectives and costs are tailored to your needs. Please call 1-800-334-6939 to talk about scheduling these workshops.
We, here at Greenhorn Ranch, know that this is the truth. Our horses are our team mates in living, playing and working. They sense our moods and our feelings and provide us instantaneous feedback to help us understand how others may perceive us. With this information, we can become more effective communicators, leaders and gain valuable insights that make us more effective and help us reach our goals. We want to share these opportunities with our guests and as such have sought training and education with which to craft programs geared toward individuals, groups, families and organizations.
The Equine Guided Leadership programs at Greenhorn Ranch regard the horse as a teacher, a coach, and a mentor. Horses are our partners in the educational process and through reflective learning, provide us a natural and immediate source of valuable information to improve our effectiveness as:
- Leaders
- Followers
- Partners
Equine Guided Workshops will enhance interpersonal and inter-organizational communication, negotiation and relational skills, self confidence and conflict management techniques. Learning outcomes reflect improved leadership and self-esteem, a greater understanding of personal and professional efficacy and locus of control.

Facilities to Make Your Meeting Work
Rustic Lodge – The lodge was built in 1976 an has 10 rooms, two of which are on the ground floor. The top floor has 8 rooms of which one is the Cary Grant room. Cary used to stay at the Ranch in the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s and we have dedicated a corner room (his favorite) which has the only King bed on the Ranch and has views of the corral and the saloon.
Two–Bedroom Cabins – There are a total of 16 cabins on the Ranch. Eight of the cabins have 2-bedrooms with a combination of sleeping arrangements including queens, fulls, twins and bunks. The 2-bedroom cabins sleep from 6 – 8 people each and all have their own bathroom.
One-Bedroom Cabins – there are 8 one-bedroom cabins. These are called our A/B Cabins. The A/B Cabins have one bedroom each and share a porch. There is a connecting door between these cabins that can be opened on either side. Each side of these cabins has its own bathroom.
Chuck House – The chuck house can feed up to 100 guests at one time! We serve 3 meals a day family style and buffet and have a great salad bar! Our chuck house is open 24/7 and we usually have cookies or cake, fruit and hot chocolate for those late night snackers! We can accommodate almost every type of dietary needs and/or preferences including diabetic, gluten free, kosher, vegetarian and vegan. Our experienced staff are able to accommodate allergies, aversions, medically prescribed, and even picky eater preferences.
Saloon – The saloon is also our recreation center. We have three rooms in our saloon including a large dance hall/meeting room with a bandstand and bar; a game room with arcade games, pool and ping-pong. We have a card room and a cozy t.v. room with a wood burning stove. Our saloon serves beer and wine, and a large selection of well/mixed hard alcohol drinks. We also serve soda and ice cream.
Fishing Pond - We have two fully stocked trout ponds with Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Bass. We have big green frogs and sunfish too. Though we have a catch and release program, if you want to eat fresh trout – you catch it and we’ll cook it! We provide fishin’ poles and have a worm bed for bait.
Corral – Our corral is one of our main centers of activity. We have over 100 horses of all shapes and sizes to accommodate guests of all shapes and sizes! We have quarter horses, mustangs, drafts, and a few thoroughbreds – and one is just right for you! Our wrangling staff is skilled and knowledgeable and will make sure that you are safe and sound in the saddle when they guide you on the trail and in the arena. We have a progressive riding program designed to help you achieve your riding goals as well as to thoroughly enjoy the scenery with your equine partner!
Heated Swimming Pool – The pool is open and heated from May through September. The deep end is 8’ and the shallow end is 3’. There is no lifeguard on duty and the pool is surrounded by a 5’ fence with safe-gates. There are chairs, tables and lounges by the pool and we do supply towels.
Deck – The deck overlooks the lawn, corral and pool. Off of the saloon, you can sit and enjoy a cool beverage from the deck while watching rides go out and come in, horseshoe tournaments, the pond area and the swimming pool.
