Why Just Take a Ride When You Can Have an Adventure?
Horseback riding is our main activity. That’s why our riding program emphasizes building confidence and learning new skills in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Ages 6 to adult can participate in our daily rides and lessons. Wee riders ages 3 to 5 can enjoy pony rides in our Kiddie Corral program.
Accommodating all rider levels, we offer four riding categories, based on age and experience. Before your first ride, our Head Wrangler will conduct a safety orientation. After that we’ll match you up with a horse that suits your riding level – from first timer to advanced. Next, you’ll have the opportunity to choose the riding group that best matches your skill level (a lope check for guests 12 years old and up is required before being allowed to enter an intermediate or advanced rider group). In each riding group or category, wranglers teach skills appropriate for the group. Each day’s ride builds on the skills already learned. This is a low key, fun, challenging, but very safe way to ride. Trotting and loping is included in our riding program under careful guidance and supervision of our professional wrangler staff.

Beginner Scenic Trail Rides – Gentle walking rides on trails and roads perfect for beginning riders or those who just want to take it easy. These rides stress more guidance and less instruction. Beginning riders, including both children and adults are welcome.
Beginner “Outlaws” Trail Rides – Designed for adventurous kids ages 6-8 as an introduction to riding. Begins with instructional walking rides, with an emphasis on proper positioning, safety, and developing rider confidence to ensure each rider’s skills progress. While adults can join kids on beginner rides, parents are asked that Outlaws get to ride with other Outlaws! In other words, this is a ride where kids get to be with other kids!
| Intermediate "Rebels" Trail Rides - The next notch in the riding belt for kids ages 9-11. Building on the instructional rides, starting with walking and progressing to trot and lope as each rider’s skills progress. Once again adults can join kids on beginner, intermediate and advanced rides (advanced based on passing lope check and as per wranglers discretion), however, parents are asked that Rebels get to ride with other Rebels! C'mon, they're REBELS! |
Intermediate Trail Rides – Balance, physical skills, and confidence are needed. Rides include walking & trotting on roads and trails, with some off trail bushwhacking. These rides develop skills while challenging each rider’s abilities. This category is for less independent riders, and stresses more instruction and less guidance.
Intermediate lesson rides with the "Outlaws" are also on the trail but still seperate from the adult's intermediate riding group.
| Advanced Trail Rides – Strong balance, physical skills, and confidence are required. Knowledge of saddling procedures can be reviewed and applied. Rides include walking, trotting, loping and advanced bushwhacking, with steeper up and down hills traveled. This is for independent riders, stressing more guidance and less instruction. |
